Once upon a time, in a green forest, there lived a hare and a tortoise. The hare could run very fast, and he was proud of his speed. Every day, he laughed at the slow tortoise. One morning, the tortoise said, "Let us have a race." The hare laughed loudly, but he agreed.
All the animals came to watch. The race began, and the hare ran far ahead. He felt so confident that he decided to rest under a big tree. "The tortoise is so slow," he thought. "I have plenty of time." Soon, the hare fell asleep.
The tortoise walked slowly, but he never stopped. Step by step, he passed the sleeping hare. When the hare woke up, the sun was setting. He ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise had already crossed the finish line.
The animals cheered for the tortoise. The hare felt embarrassed and understood an important lesson that day: slow and steady wins the race.
